The 5th Islamabad Marathon, held on January 26, 2025, brought together over 3,000 runners from Pakistan and beyond, showcasing athleticism and community spirit in the federal capital. Organized by the Islamabad Run with Us (IRU) group, the event featured participants of all ages and backgrounds, including UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, who completed the 10km run, and Danish Ambassador Jakob Linulf, who finished the 42.2km Full Marathon. IRU founder Qasim Naz expressed excitement over the event’s growing popularity, evolving into a family-friendly festival with increasing participation from women, children, and the diplomatic community. The marathon included five race categories: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km, and a Kids Fun Race.
